■ Delma Noel- Pratt , police chief in Miami Gardens, Fla., said his daughter was traumatized but is otherwise OK after an ultimately jailed man pulled a gun at her Starbucks drive- thru window because an employee forgot the cream cheese with his bagel.

■ Lee Perry Gal , an archaeologist with the Israel Antiquities Authority, said surprised archaeologists dug up an unbroken though yolk-less chicken egg dating from the Byzantine era a thousand years ago, only to accidentally crack the shell and have to repair it in a lab.

■ Graham Boettcher , director of the Birmingham Museum of Art in Alabama, said the city no longer had “a moral, ethical or legal claim” to a number of artworks from American Indian tribes as the City Council cleared the way for their return to the Tlingit and Haida tribes in Alaska.

■ Robyn Tannehill , mayor of Oxford, Miss., said the desire to create a more pedestrian-friendly downtown and stop vehicles from bottlenecking the square is behind a proposed ordinance that would create designated spots for taxis and ride-share vehicles to drop off and pick up.

■ Shawn Gillen , city manager in Tybee Island, Ga., said the beach is bustling and code enforcement officers have written more dog tickets in the past year than in the previous four years combined, along with citations for littering, bringing glass containers and climbing on sandbars.

■ Robert Matlock Jr. , 43, of suburban Kansas City, Mo., is charged with second-degree murder of his housemate and claiming self-defense after police say the two men argued over Matlock’s decision to put a lock on a door leading to his medical marijuana stash in the garage.

■ Andrew Neiman , 48, was found dead on the shore of the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., a month after he vanished after walking out of an emergency room while awaiting transfer to a psychiatric unit.

■ Reginald Newtall , 40, of suburban St. Louis faces several charges including DWI-death of another, with police saying he was under the influence of fentanyl when 53-year-old Vernon Jones was run over while fixing a mailbox in his yard.

■ Reimundo Cuevas , 37, sentenced to 25 years in prison for dealing drugs, is subject to an arrest warrant after being released from the Oklahoma County jail after just nine days, with a jail spokesperson saying, “We are trying to find out why that happened.”
