ELKINS — Dwight Alfred “Bid” Gilbert,

57, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at his home in Elkins. He was born July 22, 1964, in Huntsville to William Alfred and Barbara Joann ( Evans) Gilbert.

He was a retired dump truck driver and in his spare time enjoyed riding his Harley, hanging out with family, cruising his Mustang convertible and caring for and watching his chickens.

Bid was preceded in death by his father, William Gilbert; and grandparents, William Robert and Clara Elbert (Reed) Gilbert.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Gilbert of Goshen, three sons, Corey Dwayne Gilbert of Fayetteville, Jerry McGarrah and wife Brittanee of Prairie Grove, Braden Dwight Gilbert and wife Angela of Elkins; one daughter, Haley Alyn Srita and husband Kasey of Greenland; four sisters, Frances Cothren of Prairie Grove, Pansy James and Pearlene Lawson, both of Goshen, Sabra Whittenburg of Elkins; 12 grandchildren; and his companion and service dog, Pinky.

A celebration of life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, at 19636 Combs Bell Road, Elkins, Ark.
