Cedric the Entertainer, 57, will be doing double duty this week as host of the 73rd Emmy Awards (Sept. 19 on CBS) and star of season four of his hit CBS sitcom, The Neighborhood (Sept. 20). Here are some fun facts about the former insurance adjuster from Jefferson City, Mo.

✚ Born Cedric Antonio Kyles, he made his acting debut as the Cowardly Lion in a revival production of The Wiz at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in 1995.

✚ He’s the subject, alongside Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac, of Spike Lee’s 2000 stand-up comedy documentary The Original Kings of Comedy.
