Anna Francis Dunson,

ROGERS — age 96, passed away on Friday, October 22nd, 2021 , at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on Sunday, September 20th, 1925, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to John Wesley Shook and Arminda Francis Caroline Baker Shook.

Anna lived in northwest Arkansas her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogers, she was a charter member of Saints Alive Choir and the Exaltation Choir, and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and sewing. She was a hard worker, working at cafes, Allen’s Canning Company, the first Wal-Mart in Rogers, she and her late husband Bill ran Daylight Donut Shop in Rogers, she worked at Tom’s Peanuts, was a teacher at the first Head Start in Rogers, she babysat many children and was a caregiver and house cleaner for many. She was very patriotic and loved her country.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and Kelly Dunson; two daughters, Marjorie Luper and Debra Cockrell; and stepchildren, Lola, Dub, Arlan, Beverly, and Gary; also proceeded in death by several grandchildren.

Anna is survived by three daughters; Dianna Ruth Anderson and husband, Clayton, from Van Buren, Ark.; Linda Colson and husband, Vernon, from Manford, Okla., and Janie Berry and husband, Bill, from Rogers, Ark., one brother; Mack Shook and his wife, Leona, from Siloam Springs, Ark.; one sister-inlaw, Valasta Schook, one brother-in-law, Tom Cook; and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great- great- grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rogers, Olive Street campus at 1 p.m., and funeral service at 2 p.m., Dr. Wes George officiating, followed by interment at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark. Pallbearers: grandsons Daimond Wagner, Eldon Groh Jr., Sebastian Copp, Trenton Taylor, Charles Dee (Rock), Tommy Copp, and Jacob Dunson. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.
