NWA Fishing Report

BEAVER LAKE
Crappie are biting in the midlake area.
Reese Jones at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers recommends fishing in the shade of docks that have brush near them. Fish five to 20 feet deep with minnows or jigs. For black bass, try top-water lures early. Use Alabama rigs or crank baits later in the day.
Striped bass fishing is slow, but they can be caught between Rocky Branch park and Point 12. Try top-water lures early then use brood minnows later in the day. No reports on other species of fish.
Southtown Sporting Goods in Fayetteville reports fair black bass fishing with crank baits, jerk baits and Alabama rigs.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Guide Austin Kennedy reports good trout fishing with small spoons or Power Bait in various colors. Use light line, such as 4-pound test. Fishing between the U.S. 62 bridge and Houseman access has been productive.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
David Powell at the lake office recommends fishing for crappie with black and yellow jigs. Crappie will also bite waxworms. Try plastic worms or tube baits for black bass.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike Carver at the lake office said crappie are biting well near from the old White River bridge on minnows or jigs. Anglers are tight-lining and not using a bobber. No report on other species.
BELLA VISTA
Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista recommends trying for trout at Lake Brittany with small spoons or Power Bait. Downsize lures for black bass fishing at all Bella Vista lakes. Try small swimbaits or anything that looks like a threadfin shad. Work a jig and pig along the bottom.

SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs recommends fishing for black bass with Ned rigs or plastic worms. Try top-water lures at dawn and dusk.
SILOAM SPRINGS, CRYSTAL LAKES
Stroud recommends fishing for black bass with square-bill crank baits. Try for crappie with minnows or jigs.
ILLINOIS RIVER
Fish for black bass with small tube baits or grubs, Stroud suggests.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair fishing for crappie at Lake Tenkiller. Use minnows or tube jigs around brush and docks. Largemouth bass fishing is good with crank baits, plastic worms or jig and pigs.
At Grand Lake, crappie are biting well on jigs or minnows around docks and structure. Largemouth bass fishing is fair with crank baits and spinner baits. Blue catfish are biting fair on live bait or cut bait.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
Focused Fishing Guide Service said black bass are following shad schools all over the lake. Fishing deep is best 35 to 40 feet with a swim bait or jigging spoons around shad schools.
Try vertically jigging with a drop-shot rig over tree tops where there are shad. A jig and pig may work in the shade of docks.
